Southbury Football ClubAt the end of the 2009/10 season Southbury B finished 2nd in Division 2, which meant that they should be promoted to Division 1; however as Southbury A were already in that division it would not be possible to get promoted. After lenhghty discussions within the club and with the board of the league it was concluded that the only way Southbury B could get promoted, would be if one of the teams changed their name. As a result Southbury A have now become Contour SFC. This name was chosen as Contour have kindly provided us with sponsorhip money. The new make up for Southbury now consists of 3 teams and although Contour are registered as a seperate club, the hope is to continue under the same umbrella of Southbury Football Club and that the teams will continue to train, socialise and attend functions together. The only rivalry will be when they play each other. New club make up: Southbury A have now beocme Contour SFC Southbury B have now become Southbury A Southbury C have now become Southbury B (newly formed team 2010/11) Any players who were in Southbury A during the 2009/10 season will need to re-register in the name of Contour SFC. All other players registration will remain in the name of Southbury FC. During the season, players from Contour will NOT be allowed to play for Southbury and vice versa, although transfers can be made between the clubs (max of 3 in the season). Anyone registered for Southbury A or B can play for each other at anytime (within the rules of EDSL). |
